Oversee the entire design and construction divisions which consist of both commercial and residential projects in Colorado and Utah, by providing leadership, quality and process improvements across all on-site field Associates and managing all aspects of fire and life safety construction projects. The VP, Construction is responsible for the design, budget, manpower planning, scheduling, quality assurance, and safety on the job site and to ensure compliance with all specifications and relevant building codes. This position is in Denver, Colorado.


  • Responsible for the establishment of all final construction documents including design, schedules, and budgets
  • Assists estimating department with providing thoughts and opinions on construction project costs and capacity planning
  • Responsible for all aspects of both commercial and residential projects from design to completion
  • Oversees the preparation of weekly & monthly reports on project progress
  • Develop and track Key Performance Indicators that focus on actionable, timely identifiers of project status
  • Leads project kick off meetings and regular design/estimator/field check-ins to ensure project success
  • Analyzes job costs and ensures high quality management of projects to the closing budget
  • Communicates and makes lasting changes that improve processes to prevent reoccurring failures
  • Helps Project Managers & Superintendents resolve issues on project level
  • Escalation point for General Contractor PM’s and Superintendents
  • Directly manage the activities of the Superintendents and the VP’s of Design – serve as the leader for the design and field operations team (~250+ people)
  • Ensures Associates are in compliance with company safety standards
  • Executes successful completion and close-out and the acceptance of each project by the PM
  • Assist Safety Director by providing necessary reports and representing the Company on OSHA inspections
  • Ensure customers are satisfied and any issues with their services are remediated in future builds


  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, or similar field, or equivalent experience
  • 10-15 years of experience in management role required, 15 to 20 years preferred
  • Fire and life safety experience is preferred
  • Experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction management
  • Travel required in the Colorado and Utah areas is expected to be 25+% but may increase over time as the business evolves
  • Proficiency utilizing ERP systems that enable better tracking of schedule and costs
